PJ Harvey's mystery SLR
On the cover of her 1993 album “4-Track Demos” we see PJ clad in lingerie and sporting what looks to me like an Olympus OM series camera. I am not certain however as the controls don’t look quite right. The top plate seems reversed.
The over-long camera strap, the almost phallic positioning of the camera itself, the black lingerie, dark glasses and unshaved armpit all lend an impression of unconventional power to the figure.
The OM system was among the first smaller size SLR cameras to be released. The first camera I could really call my own was an OM-1.
